About Gentry
Gentry is the founder and executive director of Quit For Life, as well as a certified life coach with a personal commitment to helping others quit habits that no longer serve them. As a sober mom of four boys and someone who has been through her own transformation journey, Gentry understands firsthand the challenges and rewards of quitting and rebuilding a fulfilling life.
With over six years of personal sobriety and a deep passion for helping others achieve lasting health and happiness, Gentry created QuitForLife to offer support, guidance, and accountability to those looking to make real, lasting change. As a life coach, she works one-on-one with clients to help them break free from limiting beliefs and create a life they love. Through the non-profit, Gentry’s goal is to provide a safe and supportive space for individuals to thrive, with the belief that anyone can quit what doesn’t serve them and rise to their fullest potential.
Our Board of Directors is committed to guiding Quit for Life in its mission to provide free and reduced-cost life and recovery coaching, 24/7 community support, and meaningful events. Each member brings unique expertise and passion to help create lasting change.
Andy Affholter is a well-known and respected basketball coach in the Yakima Valley. He began his coaching career at Mabton before moving to Granger, where he led multiple teams to the state tournament. Though he retired from high school coaching, his passion for the game never faded—he continues to coach his grandsons’ AAU teams and has run numerous basketball camps through his church.
As both a seasoned sports coach and an avid pickleball player, Andy is a strong advocate for the physical and mental health benefits of staying active. He is excited to be part of a nonprofit that promotes healthy habits, outdoor recreation, and greater access to physical activities for the community.
Bridgette Thomas is a passionate advocate for recovery and an excellent addition to the Quit for Life nonprofit board. As someone in recovery herself, she understands the importance of community, support, and healthy living. Bridgette enjoys staying active and spending time outdoors with her family and wants to encourage more people to get outside.
With experience working alongside other nonprofits, she has played a key role in organizing events such as the Yakima Roundup for the AA community. Her dedication, strong work ethic, and commitment to creating positive change make her a valuable asset in furthering Quit for Life’s mission.
Leigh Robinette is an excellent choice for the Treasurer position at Quit for Life. With experience assisting other nonprofit organizations by reviewing budgets and reconciling financial statements, Leigh brings valuable financial insight and accountability to the board.
As someone in recovery, Leigh discovered a deep passion for running, hiking, and outdoor adventures. His journey led him to complete the Pacific Crest Trail, a 2,650-mile trek from Mexico to Canada. Smart, hardworking, and level-headed, Leigh is excited to support Quit for Life’s mission of promoting healthy lifestyles in recovery—helping others find joy in movement, adventure, and maybe even meeting him out on the trails.
